PROPER PRUNING TECHNIQUES
LISA BOWER will conduct a workshop on the proper techniques
of pruning trees, where to make the cuts, how to trim young trees as well as
older, established ones, and even some shrubs. She will have available
the basic tools recommended for this task and will demonstrate their proper
use. Lisa will also demonstrate the pruning methods on actual tree branches.
Lisa is currently the Regional Urban Forester for the Ohio Division of Forestry
and oversees 15 central Ohio counties in this capacity. Prior to working
for the Ohio Division of Forestry, she was in a similar position for the City
of Cincinnati. Lisa has a degree in horticulture from Ohio State University,
has been involved with the grounds crew at OSU, and is the owner of Natural
Gardens, a business where she does landscape design and maintenance.
With everything coming to life in the garden landscape, this is a very appropriate
topic to have covered and demonstrated so we can maintain our trees correctly.
As always, guests are welcome so please invite a friend or neighbor who
might benefit from this program. We look forward to seeing each of you
on the 25th.
Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
