Crystal Hartley, in charge of Logistics for Mr. Mulch, will review the proper uses of various organic mulches available to us to apply to our gardens. Mulches are used for conserving moisture, maintaining constant soil temperatures, minimizing soil erosion and compaction, helping with weed problems, as well as giving a neater and more finished look to the garden.
Crystal will have samples of the different products that we can see, feel, and smell to determine how we might benefit from their use. Following her presentation, she will open the floor to questions and answers.
With the planting season quickly approaching, now is the time to consider what we want to plant, where we went to plant it, and how to get the best results from our efforts.
This should be an interesting program with much information to learn. As always, guests are welcome so please bring a friend or neighbor who might also be interested in organic gardening.
If anyone has extra seed catalogs that are no longer needed, it might be nice to bring them to share with others.
Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
