PHENOLOGY IN THE GARDEN
SARA and DON CREAMER of Washington Court House will be our speakers for the
evening. Phenology is the study of periodic biological events in the animal
and plant world as influenced by the environment, especially weather and
climate. The Fayette County Master Gardeners have such a community garden
and Sara and Don will explain the study they are performing in conjunction
with OARDC in Wooster to establish full bloom of plants with insect emergence
and many other factors related to the environment.
Sara is President of the Fayette County Master Gardeners and is Production
Facility Manager for Franklin Park Conservatory where she propagates many
of the plants used at the Park. Don is also a Master Gardener and the Urban
Forester for Washington Court House, Ohio. They are both active in many garden-related
projects and provide an interesting as well as educational program.
This should be a very enlightening presentation and you are encouraged to bring
a friend or neighbor who might also be interested in attending.
Refreshments and beverages will be served following the program, allowing time
for mingling and sharing gardening experiences with others in attendance. We
look forward to seeing you on the 23rd.
